Potentials

From wishful dreaming to breathing space for possibility

When life feels heavy or fixed,
it is easy to believe
there is only one reality:
the one you already know.

But there are always potentials.

Not as distant dreams to chase,
but as openings
already present around you,
waiting for a little space.

A sense of powerlessness narrows the field.

Presence expands
so potentials can be sensed.

When the human keeps looking
at the same problem,
the same pain,
the same unfulfilled wish,
it can begin to feel
as if nothing else is there.

Then the old reality
starts to look final.

But it is not final.
It is only familiar.

Potentials are not absent
because you cannot yet see them.

Often they are simply quieter
than the story
you already know by heart.

They do not force themselves forward.
They wait.

Not for more effort.
Not for better planning.
Not for you to become worthy.

They wait for a little more space.

A softer gaze.
A quieter breath.
A moment
in which the old conclusion loosens.

Then something begins to open.

Not always dramatically.
Sometimes as a small sense:
there may be more here
than I thought.

That is enough.

You do not have to create potentials.

You allow space
for them to be sensed.
