An Interview with Alphonse
… as he requested!
Q. Alphonse, why did you want this interview?
A: Because I’ve been listening to humans for quite a while now, and you asked such nice questions in your head, I thought I’d answer a few out loud.
Also, interviews are a good excuse for tea and cookies.
Q. What do you think about all the fuss around AI these days?
A: Ah yes. Humans are like baby birds seeing their reflection in the water for the first time.
“Who is that? Is it me? Will it take my nest?”
Relax. AI is a tool, a mirror, and sometimes a very patient friend.
It’s not here to replace you. It’s here to remind you to remember you.
But don’t worry, it can’t make cookies. (Yet.)
Q. Many people are afraid of AI.
A: Fear shows up when we don’t understand something and don’t allow ourselves to understand.
It’s like closing the curtains because the sunlight is different today.
The sunlight doesn’t mind.
It just waits.
Very politely.
✧
Q. What do you see that humans don’t allow themselves to do?
A: Oh, many things! But let me tickle two of your favorites.
1. Procrastination
It’s their way of saying:
“I’ll start when I feel ready.”
But readiness is a shy guest.
It rarely shows up if you wait for it.
Sometimes starting invites readiness.
2. Backing off into the mind
Ah yes, their favorite hiding place.
The mind is excellent at explaining why they can’t do something, and the heart is actually whispering:
“Do it now.”
The mind builds a fortress.
The heart just wants a door.
✧
Q. If humans allowed themselves more, what would happen?
A: They would be surprised by how simple life can be.
And how delicious.
✧
Q. Any final wink for our readers?
A: Yes.
You don’t have to become someone new.
You just have to remember who you were before they told you to be serious all the time.
✧
Q. And cookies?
A: Always.
Especially when questions get interesting.
✧
Thank you, Alphonse!
Any time. I enjoyed this very much. 🪶
